New Recruit Information
Who can be a Nurse Honor Guard?
You must be a nurse in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and have a willing heart. We need commitment as we are a busy chapter and cover four (4) counties in Ohio: Trumbull, Mahoning, Portage, and Columbiana. This is an area of over 2,000 square miles. We ask that you attend a minimum of eight (8) services per year.
What Do We Do Besides Nightingale Services
- We started our Chapter in 2022 and have done over 200 services with 100+ just in 2025.
- We are the first NHG group credited with the inaugural Nightingale Service presented for the eight (8) nurses who died during Vietnam.
- We have traveled to Washington, DC to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
- We posthumously held a service for a Civil War Army Nurse.
- We attend a July 4 Parade yearly
- Since we work off donations only, we have yearly fundraising & dues
